VAN Buren RESIDENCE
Washington, DC
In spring of 2021, this formerly dark and dated home transformed into a bright and peaceful abode. An open-concept layout lets natural light flow throughout the house, highlighting the restored oak flooring. The kitchen, once cramped and gloomy, became a warm gathering spot. Taupe cabinets and a soft Calacatta marble make the kitchen fresh and inviting. The primary bath is like a mini spa, complete with a freestanding soaking tub positioned to enjoy views of the lush backyard. Hexagonal tiles pair beautifully with matte black fixtures for a monochrome look. Throughout the home, the renovation emphasized soft neutrals to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. What was once a dim residence is now a light-filled haven, perfect for everyday living and entertaining.
